Christmas 2008

What a great Christmas we had this year. Mary Ann and Kent hosted the Christmas Eve bash, with an Italian buffet courtesy of Mariana and Paul Williams. After the gift exchange we had the uproarious White Elephant exchange, which Moe proclaimed as the worst gifts ever, which means the best ever! Look forward to seeing those gifts again next year! Everyone enjoyed watching Marlee run around.

On Christmas day we all trooped over to Joe's awesome new crib in Seal Beach. We joined Sandra's family for tacos and had a great time visiting and enjoying the lovely weather. And watching Marlee run around.

Happy Days - A New Musical
On Thursday Oct. 30 The Escalante Family and Friends were treated to a special preview of Paul Williams and Garry Marshall's New Musical, Happy Days, at the La Mirada Theater for the Performing Arts. The show was fabulous and the music was amazing! Kudos to Paul for a great show and thanks to Mariana for making the arrangements for all of us. Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the show.

Gir's Day Out in Solana Beach

Sunday October 19
Mariana, Diane, Terri, Mary Ann, Bonnie, Allison and Elaine took a train trip to Solana Beach to meet Denise Tiglio Rossall for a belated birthday party. We had a delicious lunch followed by shopping, and enjoyed conversation on the train all the way back home.

Joe Escalante honored by Los Alamitos High

Congratulations, Joe!
Along with 39 other alumni and several faculty members, Joe was recognized last night as a distinguished alumnus at Los Alamitos High's Inaugural Hall of Fame Banquet. Joe was selected for his contributions to the world of entertainment, music, and entertainment law. Joe's four sisters, Mariana, Diane, Terri, and Mary Ann, and brothers Greg and Tom attended, along with Joe's brothers-in-law Glenn, Kent, and Paul Williams. Also there to cheer for Joe were his lovely wife Sandra, stepdad Alan, his niece Angela, nephew Jeff and his wife Kristina, and of course his remarkable Aunt Bonnie (who got to meet J. T. Snow and Robb Nenn, whoo-hoo)! Everyone had a great time. Thanks, Joe! Pix to follow.

The day after the wedding

Welcome to the Escalante-extended-family blog!
What a wonderful wedding yesterday! Congratulations to the Gilkenson family, and many thanks to everyone who made it possible, and especially to the Oi family for sharing their beautiful home.

This is my first attempt at a blog, and I am "building the plane as I fly it." I have set it up so that those of you who have been invited to can post. Greg and I are looking into a visit to the Watts Towers. When we confirm a date, I'll post it here. Oh, this is going to be so much fun, that's what she said...
